Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins is also referred to as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins within the United States as well as Mexico, is an American Mexican sportscaster. She is currently employed by ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter and sometimes hosts SportsNation. She joined ESPN in 2016. joined ESPN. She is the daughter of television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since her age of nine. Her skill was instrumental in helping her get her first job as a an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami and Univision Miami, where she worked with the producers of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. After this she was hired by the CBS station of St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. After 2009, the reporter moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she worked for KNVO TV 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. The stories she covered were about immigration and drug trafficking throughout Texas as well as Mexico. In addition, she was frequently called upon to be a sports or weather anchor. She was then anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. In the following years, she was given more responsibility. She visited Mount Union University in order to see if it was a good fit for her. In the end, she loved the school and they were offering the major she was looking for. When she completed her high school education she attended the university to study media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who also managed WRMU's 91.1FM station for which she worked for a number of years, was an acquaintance. Her professor urged her to be confident and was greatly moved by his love of journalism.
